Inspecting the Growth
This was a piece I submitted for an annual agricultural-art contest. It didn't get chosen, but I'm happy with how it turned out. I know very little about farming, but I have stood in a corn field before and wanted to capture the feeling - the crops encompassing me and stretching overhead, the soil underfoot, the humid haze. Also the friends I have who are most involved in farming and agriculture are women, so it was important for me that it be women running the farm in the piece.
