Forward to Evening

 Forward to Evening

This piece was inspired by walking the trails around my house at dusk during the summer. When I found myself walking at sundown, I encountered fewer and fewer people on the trails and more and more the sounds of frogs, cicadas and rustling leaves. The abandoned railroad tracks I passed by became eerie; everything felt wild. In this piece I hoped to capture the interaction between daylight and nighttime: between the visible and the mysterious. The figure sashays down the old train tracks, spreading old spirits and moving towards the unknown. The landscape in the distance appears to dance as the defined world of daylight distorts into the animate world of nighttime.
