Humid and Eroding
My favorite short story author, Donald Barthelme, forbade his creative writing students from including any mentions of weather in their work. Well... I can see where he was coming from, but it's a rule I definitely don't adhere to in my visual artwork. This piece was inspired by suppressed emotion and suffocating humidity - hallmarks of Iowa summers!
